Your Island Getaway Begins Before You Arrive
One of the pleasures of visiting Mayne Island is that the journey is part of the experience. Whether you arrive by ferry, float plane, private boat, bicycle, or car, you'll find yourself slowing down long before you reach MayneWave.
🚢 By BC Ferries
Regular BC Ferries service connects Mayne Island with both Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
You can travel:
- By car from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) or Swartz Bay (Victoria)
- As a foot passenger from either terminal
Many of our guests choose to travel without a vehicle. The recently completed Mayne Island Regional Trail provides a safe and enjoyable walking and cycling route for most of the journey between the ferry terminal and the village.
MayneWave is approximately:
- 🚶 25-minute walk from the ferry terminal
- 🚴 Short bicycle ride
- 🚗 5-minute drive
Travelling as a foot passenger also avoids ferry vehicle reservations and additional vehicle fares, making a weekend getaway simpler, more relaxing, and often more economical.

✈️ By Float Plane
For a truly memorable arrival, Sea Air Seaplanes offers scheduled morning and late afternoon flights between Vancouver International Airport – South Terminal (YVR South) and Mayne Island (YAV).
The float plane dock at the Government Dock is only a five-minute walk from MayneWave.
It's one of the quickest and most scenic ways to escape the city and begin your island holiday.

Cruising the Gulf Islands?
The Government Dock is only a short walk from MayneWave, making the cabin a convenient stop for boaters exploring the islands.
🚲 By Bicycle
Mayne Island is becoming increasingly bicycle friendly.
The Mayne Island Regional Trail provides a safe route for much of the journey from the ferry terminal, making MayneWave an excellent destination for cyclists exploring the Southern Gulf Islands.
Bike racks are available at the cabin.

If you'd prefer not to walk from the ferry terminal or Government Dock, we're happy to help.
With advance notice, we are pleased to provide complimentary pickup and drop-off for our guests.
Simply let us know your arrival details before your stay.
